Philadelphia Downed, 6-4, by Mets
|
Austin Riley had a good game, but he could not keep the Philadelphia Phillies from falling, 6-4, to the New York Mets at Citizens Bank Park. The Philadelphia third baseman was 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk in the loss. New York's record now stands at 21-23, placing them 4th in the National League East Division.
New York won the game in part because of Kyle Manzardo. The designated hitter ripped a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Mets ahead, 4-3. For the game, Manzardo had 1 double and 1 home run in 3 at-bats.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Manzardo, "one at-bat at a time."
