Astros Capture Close Win
|
Houston Astros starter Nick Martinez turned in a top-notch performance against the Oakland Athletics at Minute Maid Park. The result was a win for the Astros, 2-1. Tim Mayza, credited with the win in relief, is now 5-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.1 innings. The Astros have an impressive 31-13 record.
Houston got a game-changing hit from Lars Nootbaar. The left fielder blasted a solo home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a winner.
"The fans went nuts at the end," Nootbaar said.
