Miami Absorbs 3-2 Loss to Tampa Bay
|
Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Tampa Bay Rays and Miami Marlins.
The Tampa Bay Rays beat the Miami Marlins, 3-2. Tampa Bay pitcher and Long Beach, California, native Tylor Megill led the way. Trevor Stephan snagged the win in relief. He goes to 2-1 on the season. Yu Darvish suffered the loss. Yennier Cano earned the save for Tampa Bay, his 10th.
Tampa Bay used the timely hitting of Calvin Mitchell to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Rays on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Tylor is pitching with a lot of determination and a lot of fire," said Tampa Bay manager Mark S.
Tampa Bay is now 16-28, Miami 27-17.
