The New York Mets did just enough to sneak past the New York Yankees, 6-5, at Yankee Stadium. New York shortstop Marcus Semien, in particular, had a standout performance. Danny Young picked up the save, his 2nd. With the win, New York upped its record to 26-20.

With New York leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Semien hit a fastball from JP Sears for a 2-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Mets ahead, 3-0.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Mets manager Craig K.
