Boston and St. Louis duked it out and the Red Sox came out victorious.

Boston pitcher Kyle Wright did his part in helping his team defeat the St. Louis Cardinals, 3-0. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Wright yielded no runs over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 4-5.

The Red Sox got a big at-bat from shortstop Javier Baez. For the game, Baez went 1-4 with a double. In the top of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 4th double of the season gave Boston a 1-0 lead.

"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Wright said after the game.

The Red Sox improved their record to 21-24 by beating St. Louis.
