No one was more impactful than Alex Freeland in the 9-2 New York win over New York. Freeland went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. New York reliever Ryan Burr picked up the win to move to 2-0. Sonny Gray suffered the loss. With the win, New York upped its record to 27-20.

New York used a well-timed hit by Jose Trevino to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Mets ahead, 3-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"It never gets old," said Freeland. "Winning, that is."
