Marlins Improve to 31-18 with 5-2 Win
|
Miami and Chicago duked it out and the Marlins came out victorious.
The Miami Marlins downed the Chicago Cubs, 5-2, at loanDepot Park. The Marlins were led by Ceddanne Rafaela. Rafaela was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Ben Joyce collected his 2nd save.
With Miami trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Rafaela hit a slider from Jesus Luzardo for a 3-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Marlins ahead, 3-1.
"It wasn't a very good day at the ballpark," said Chicago manager Bryan H.
The win gives Miami a season record of 31-18.
