Phillies Rough Up Rangers, 8-2
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Texas Rangers and Philadelphia Phillies get after it.
The Philadelphia Phillies beat the Texas Rangers, 8-2, at Citizens Bank Park. The win was due in part to shortstop José Barrero, who went 3 for 3 with 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Gavin Stone earned the win to go to 4-1. He allowed 2 runs on 3 hits, with 3 walks and 8 strikeouts in 6.1 innings of work.
Sam Huff hit a bases-clearing double off Paul Blackburn in the bottom of the third, which put the Phillies in front, 3-2. In addition to the double, Huff had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
"We did more than enough to get the win," said Barrero.
The victory gives Philadelphia a record of 31-19.
