Mariners Deal Yankees 5-0 Defeat
|
Tarik Skubal, who is tied for 5th in the AL with a 10.4 K/9 rate, never let the Yankees get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Mariners to a win, 5-0. Skubal yielded no runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 0, and struck out 7. His record improves to 2-5. Seattle, now 23-28, holds down 4th place in the American League West Division.
The Mariners picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching.
"We did a lot of things right," said Skubal.
