The New York Mets beat the Los Angeles Dodgers, 4-2. New York pitcher and Anderson, Indiana, native Chayce McDermott led the way. The winner was McDermott. He threw 5.2 innings of 2-hit ball. The loser was Kyle Harrison. The save went to Blake Treinen, number 5 for him.

Chandler Simpson dealt the Dodgers a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with a runner on 2nd and New York leading 2-1, Simpson, who is tied for 4th in the NL in triples with 3, hit a first pitch slider for a run-scoring single.

"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said McDermott.

With the win, New York raised its record to 30-21.
