The rain came, as predicted, but the Kansas City Royals and Cincinnati Reds were able to complete their ballgame.

Rafael Devers impressed in the 10-0 Kansas City win over Cincinnati. Devers, who is on pace for 109 RBI this season, was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. By defeating Cincinnati, the 4th-place Royals improved to 27-28.

Early in the game, designated hitter Pete Alonso had a 2-run home run for Kansas City. It was his 13th home run of the season and put the Royals on top, 2-0.
