The Washington Nationals went down to defeat to Hunter Greene and his Atlanta teammates. The final score was 9-2, in favor of the Braves. With the win over Washington, the Braves improved to 25-28.

Vinnie Pasquantino had a big grand slam home run for the Braves in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Atlanta leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he sized up a fastball from Stephen Strasburg, who finished 3rd in the NL in innings pitched with 211.0 in 2021, and punished it. The result was his 10th home run of the season, which put the Braves on top, 5-0.

"We understand we didn't play our best baseball," said losing manager Shane S. "We'll shower it off and be ready to compete."
