|
The Texas Rangers got a sterling performance from pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto, but the Arizona Diamondbacks still prevailed, 5-4. Yamamoto threw 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball. The winner in relief was Jason Adam. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 4-1. Mason Miller recorded the save for Arizona, his 8th of the season.
Jorge Soler came through with a big-time hit for Arizona. The designated hitter smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 5-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"We were the better team," crowed Soler.
With the win, Arizona pushed its record to 28-26.
