Rooker Helps Cincinnati Cruise to 12-3 Win
Conditions were not ideal but Cincinnati and Kansas City were able to put their game in the books.

Getting offensive support from Brent Rooker, the Cincinnati Reds topped the Kansas City Royals, 12-3. Rooker went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 4 for the Reds. Joe Ryan picked up the win with 5.1 innings of work. He allowed no runs on 3 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 6-4.

With Cincinnati leading 1-0 in the top of the first, Rooker hit a cutter from Aaron Nola for a 2-run home run. It was his 16th home run of the season and put the Reds ahead, 3-0.

"Nice to score a bunch of runs," said Rooker after the game.

The loss makes Kansas City 28-29.
