Texas Beats Toronto, 2-1
|
In a low-scoring game between Texas and Toronto, pitcher Roki Sasaki was excellent. The Texas right-hander helped his team knock off the Blue Jays, 2-1. Keegan Thompson locked down his 1st save. The last-place Rangers have won 4 in a row.
Jake Fraley had a big run-scoring triple for the Rangers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Texas leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a cutter from Justin Steele, who is tied for 6th in the AL with a 2.85 ERA, and swatted a triple to center. It was his 2nd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rangers ahead, 2-0.
"Roki was doing a good job pouring in strikes," said Texas manager Brian O.
