Braves Win, 8-6, Versus Philadelphia
|
The Atlanta Braves weathered a fine game by Philadelphia catcher William Contreras to upend the Phillies, 8-6, at Citizens Bank Park. Contreras was 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Atlanta reliever Ryan Borucki was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Justin Martinez. The Braves now have a record of 22-35 with the win over Philadelphia.
Willi Castro, who is tied for 4th in the NL in triples with 3, helped out the Atlanta cause in the top of the ninth inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the second baseman went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Castro said. "We did a good job of that today."
