Division Series Game 1 Victory for Greene and Detroit
The Detroit Tigers powered past the visiting Cleveland Guardians, 3-1, in the opener of the Division Series at Comerica Park. Detroit starting pitcher Hunter Greene threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Tigers now lead the series 1-0.

Fernando Tatis Jr. had a critical at-bat with one out in the bottom of the seventh for Detroit. He came through with a solo home run to put Detroit in front, 3-1.

"They say the first rule of the playoffs is to win the home games," Tatis Jr. said afterward. "It feels nice, but it is kind of what we were supposed to do."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Comerica Park in Detroit.
