Blitzed by Siri, Athletics, Tigers Sink Further in LCS
With center fielder Jose Siri leading the charge, the Oakland Athletics got past the Detroit Tigers, 5-4, in extra innings in Game 2 of the League Championship Series. Siri was 1 for 5 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 at Comerica Park as Oakland managed to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for CJ Abrams? The 25-year old shortstop Abrams stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 12th inning to put Oakland up, 5-4. For the game, he was 2 for 6, including 1 double and 1 single.

Tigers manager Chris C did not take questions after the game, telling assembled reporters that he would hold a press conference "if and when we win the World Series."

The next game is set to be played for Thursday, October 16th , 2025 at Oakland Coliseum in Oakland.
