Chicago Win to Pull Even With Kansas City
Kansas City second baseman Brandon Lowe pounded Chicago White Sox pitchers at Kauffman Stadium, but it was not enough to keep the Royals from falling, 7-4 in Game 2 of the Wild Card Game. Lowe belted 2 home runs, though he couldn't prevent the Royals from slipping into a 1-1 tie in the best-of-3 series.

Chicago used a clutch hit from Francisco Alvarez to get the win. The catcher drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the White Sox ahead, 7-4. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Things broke our way today and that's great," White Sox manager Bobby G said. "It's important, though, to stay focused and not pat yourself on the back too much. We aren't done yet."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City.
