Chicago Takes Wild Card Game in Deciding Game
The joy and relief on the faces of the Chicago White Sox players was obvious as they celebrated their Wild Card Game win over the Kansas City Royals.

"In a series like this, the smallest thing can make the difference in how it turns out," said Chicago second baseman Ozzie Albies, shortly after the 5-2 win that clinched the series 2-1. "We're happy we did what it takes to get it done."

The team is now off to the Division Series.

Albies won series MVP honors on the strength of his .385 batting average during the series. He also had a .385 on-base percentage and 1 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 1 runs.

The Chicago White Sox will play against the Detroit Tigers in the next round. Detroit had a bye in the Wild Card Game. The Division Series is scheduled to begin on October 6th , 2023.
