Still Kicking: Colorado Cut Miami Series Lead to 3-1 With Late Win
|
The Colorado Rockies got a strong game from starter Bryce Miller, but it was some clutch hitting that ultimately delivered the win.
The Rockies took the 3-2 win over the Miami Marlins in Game 4 of the League Championship Series in a 12th inning walk-off. The win capped off a fine outing for the right-handed Miller. Miller threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball in the win, which allowed the Rockies to narrow their deficit to 1-3 in the best-of-7 series.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 12th inning, when Colorado designated hitter Cal Raleigh, facing John King, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Rockies the 3-2 win.
"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Miami manager Ryan S.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Colorado Field in Denver.
