Angels Drop Mariners, 3-0, with Late Score
|
In a tight tilt between the Los Angeles Angels and the Seattle Mariners, Alec Marsh was the deciding factor. The Los Angeles right-hander spearheaded the 3-0 win. Los Angeles reliever Adam Ottavino picked up the win, raising his record to 1-1. Tarik Skubal was tagged with the loss. Bryan Abreu earned save number 16 this season.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for J.P. Crawford? The 29-year old shortstop Crawford stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Los Angeles up, 1-0. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"You need to show up when your number's called," said Crawford.
The win elevated the Angels to 33-24.
