Braves Lose to Red Sox, 8-6
|
Atlanta designated hitter Vinnie Pasquantino had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Pasquantino went 2-3 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice, even as Boston beat the Braves, 8-6. Boston reliever Kyle Wright picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Ryan Borucki took the loss. With this game in the books, Boston is 28-32, Atlanta 23-36.
Boston used the hitting of Nolan Jones to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Red Sox on top, 6-5. For the game, Jones had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I felt good up there," said Jones. "I saw the ball well."
