White Sox Come Up Short at Chicago, 2-1
|
Chicago took on Chicago in a contest which featured a pitchers' duel. Brandon Woodruff, in particular, was fantastic. The Chicago right-hander helped his team snag the win, 2-1. Chicago is now 37-25, 8 games up in the National League Central Division.
The Cubs got a big at-bat from right fielder Jack Suwinski. For the game, Suwinski was 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 18th home run of the season gave Chicago a 2-0 lead.
"My job is to go out and execute," said Woodruff.
