Phillies Take Tight Tangle
|
The inspired effort of Toronto left fielder Wyatt Langford was not enough to prevent a loss, 3-2, to the Philadelphia Phillies. Langford went 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Philadelphia improves to 40-21 with the win. They lead their division by 3 games.
Josh Bell came through with a big-time hit for Philadelphia. The first baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
Philadelphia manager Jon C commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
