Giants Take Down Padres, 2-1
|
The San Francisco Giants took San Diego pitcher Chris Sale's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Oracle Park. The final score had San Francisco getting past the Padres, 2-1. Sale went 8.1 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 6. San Francisco reliever Ryan Pressly got the win, raising his record to 1-4. Chris Sale was tagged with the loss. San Francisco is now 33-30, San Diego 35-26.
The defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth for San Francisco. That's when Francisco Lindor hit a solo home run off 36-year old left-handed pitcher Chris Sale to win the game. The home crowd went wild.
"It's great when the crowd gets into it," Lindor said.
