Philadelphia and Toronto duked it out and the Phillies came out victorious.
Philadelphia Phillies starter Carlos Rodón pitched a strong game against the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre, leading the Phillies to victory, 4-2. Rodón yielded 2 runs over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 8-2. Justin Martinez notched his 16th save of the season.
In the top of the third inning of a 1-1 tie, Philadelphia first baseman Josh Bell reached on an error by the P, driving in 1 run. It broke the deadlock and put Philadelphia on top, 2-1.
Said losing manager Dan D: "Obviously, we wished for a better outcome."
The defeat makes Toronto 27-36.
