The Colorado Rockies topped the New York Mets, 2-1, in National League action at Colorado Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Colorado pitcher Robert Gasser. Colorado raised its record to 39-24 with the win.

Gasser, who dominated for Colorado, earned the victory to move to 5-4. He was in control the whole game, scattering 1 hit over 8 innings, while striking out 6. New York batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
