San Francisco Gets 7-3 Win
|
The San Francisco Giants defeated the Texas Rangers, 7-3, in National League action at Globe Life Field. San Francisco pitcher Logan Webb had a standout performance. Webb got the win, improving to 12-0. He gave up 5 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. He allowed 3 runs. Chris Martin closed the door for San Francisco, picking up his 3rd save of the year.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Cedric Mullins? The San Francisco left fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Giants on top, 4-3. For the game, Mullins had 1 double and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
"We're not going to feel sorry for ourselves," said Texas skipper Daryl S. "Wouldn't do any good."
The slumping Rangers have lost 9 straight.
