Los Angeles Absorbs 3-1 Loss to St. Louis
|
St. Louis beat Los Angeles on the strength of starting pitcher James Paxton's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a win, 3-1. Paxton picked up the win for St. Louis, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 2-6. David Robertson was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 8 of 9 save opportunities.
Jeremy Pena took Los Angeles hurler Kyle Harrison deep in the bottom of the sixth. His 2-run home run put the Cardinals on top, 3-1. In all, Pena had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
