Boosted by the 2-hit performance of Adolis García, who is on pace for 103 RBI this season, the Chicago White Sox defeated the Kansas City Royals, 5-2. Aroldis Chapman earned the save, his 13th. Chicago is now 31-35, while Kansas City is 31-35.
García contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Chicago in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, García took a slider from Dylan Cease and stroked the home run to left-center. His 17th home run of the season allowed the White Sox to leap in front, 3-2.
"Feels good to get the job done," García said after the game.
