Twins Earn Late Win
The Minnesota Twins overcame a pretty good performance by Toronto left fielder Wyatt Langford, beating the Blue Jays, 9-8, at Target Field. Langford was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Louie Varland claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. His record stands at 2-1. Today's win puts Minnesota at 34-32, while Toronto falls to 27-39.

Batting in the bottom of the tenth, 23-year old shortstop Elly De La Cruz had a real shot to win the game. Toronto pitcher Brock Burke was determined not to let it happen. But with two outs, De La Cruz hit a run-scoring single. The Twins had a walk-off triumph.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said Twins manager Jonathan A. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
