Baltimore designated hitter Shohei Ohtani was instrumental in helping the Orioles triumph, 7-4, over the Detroit Tigers. Ohtani was 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The win went to Doug Nikhazy in relief, making him now 1-1. Luis Castillo took the loss for Detroit. Greg Weissert got the save, the 4th for him this season.

Christian Encarnacion-Strand, who is tied for 5th in the AL in doubles with 21, aided the Baltimore cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the first baseman went 1 for 4, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
