The performance of CJ Abrams proved critical in helping Oakland beat Baltimore, 8-4. The Athletics shortstop hit 2 home runs. The Athletics improved their record to 38-30 with the win over Baltimore.

Josh Lowe had a big 2-run home run for the Athletics in the top of the sixth inning. With Oakland leading 3-2 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a cutter from 32-year old right-handed pitcher Phil Maton and punished it. The result was his 11th home run of the season, which put the Athletics on top, 5-2.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Lowe.
