New York left fielder Ryan O'Hearn had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. O'Hearn was 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice, even as Boston beat the Yankees, 10-9. The winner in relief was Tyler Holton. He is now 1-2. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings.

Jorge Polanco chipped in a solo home run for Boston in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 1 run batted in.
