The Tampa Bay Rays overcame a pretty good performance by New York catcher Jose Trevino, beating the Mets, 7-6, at Citi Field. Trevino went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Yariel Rodriguez earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record is now 2-3. Tampa Bay, with the win, climbs to 24-47.

Calvin Mitchell was 1 for 5 for Tampa Bay. The 26-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the fifth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Tommy Kahnle. It was his 38th RBI of the season.

"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Mitchell.
