The Atlanta Braves beat the New York Mets, 7-1. Atlanta pitcher and Mission Viejo, California, native Patrick Sandoval led the way. By defeating New York, the last-place Braves improved to 31-42.
Willi Castro, who is tied for 7th in the NL in triples with 3, chipped in a solo home run for Atlanta in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
