Cardinals Lose By a Run at Chicago
|
Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Chicago White Sox and the St. Louis Cardinals. Chicago won it, 2-1. Chicago starter Joe Musgrove was in command. Picking up his 15th save was two-time All-Star Aroldis Chapman. The setback makes St. Louis 27-47.
Chicago went in front, 2-1, on Jake Burger's 10th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Burger hit in the bottom of the seventh, left St. Louis pitcher James Paxton visibly perturbed.
Burger attributed the win to his team's "steely resolve."
