Twins Come Up Short at Cincinnati, 3-2
|
The Cincinnati Reds eked out a 3-2 win versus the Minnesota Twins at Great American Ball Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Andrew Heaney. He was terrific. The win went to Emmanuel Clase in relief, making him now 2-1. Lucas Erceg took the loss for Minnesota. With the win, Cincinnati pushed its record to 37-37.
Cincinnati left fielder Jesus Sanchez delivered a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth. Overall, he went 3 for 4, picking up 1 home run, 1 single, and 1 double. He scored 1 run and knocked in 1.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Sanchez said after the game.
