New York Nets 8-7 Win Versus Orioles
|
The New York Yankees battled the Baltimore Orioles into extra innings before the outcome was decided. The Yankees won it, finally, 8-7, in 10 innings. In the game, New York designated hitter Starling Marte went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 3 and driving in 3. Reliever Keegan Akin picked up the win. His record improves to 3-2. Josh Sborz took the loss. The Yankees now have a record of 31-44 with the win over Baltimore.
The Yankees got a clutch hit from catcher Carson Kelly. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Yankees.
"Exciting game to play in," said Marte. "Getting the win makes it even better."
