Houston Absorbs 8-6 Loss to Cleveland
|
The Cleveland Guardians topped the Houston Astros, 8-6, in American League action at Minute Maid Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Cleveland pitcher Paul Skenes. Skenes yielded 1 run over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 1 hit, walked 3, and struck out 9. His record improves to 8-2. With the win, Cleveland pushed its record to 43-32.
Cleveland used a clutch at-bat from Alec Bohm to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Guardians ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Bohm said.
