Orioles Win, Now 39-37
|
The Baltimore Orioles picked up a win at Minute Maid Park, taking down the Houston Astros, 9-3. Starting pitcher Nestor Cortes was a big reason why. Cortes yielded 3 runs over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 3-3. With the win, Baltimore raised its record to 39-37.
Baltimore used a clutch at-bat from Josh Jung to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Orioles ahead, 5-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
Said Baltimore manager Doc D: "Our approach was outstanding all night long."
