Cardinals Beaten By Reds, 4-1
|
The Cincinnati Reds downed the St. Louis Cardinals, 4-1, at Busch Stadium. Jesus Sanchez led the way, going 3-for-4 for Cincinnati. Taj Bradley got the win, improving to 6-6. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 7 hits and 1 run, while striking out 6 and walking 2. The second-place Reds have won 7 straight games.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Romy Gonzalez? The 28-year old second baseman Gonzalez stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put Cincinnati up, 3-1. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 2 doubles and 1 single.
"Nice to keep stacking the wins," said Gonzalez.
