New York Dealt 3-2 Defeat
|
In a tight tilt between the Philadelphia Phillies and the New York Mets, Aaron Nola was the deciding factor. The Philadelphia right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Philadelphia reliever Caleb Thielbar picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Cade Smith took the loss. Justin Martinez notched his 21st save in 24 chances.
Philadelphia took a 3-2 lead on Jackson Holliday's 9th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Holliday hit in the bottom of the seventh, left New York pitcher Cade Smith visibly frustrated.
"I like our moxie," said Phillies manager Jon C.
Philadelphia goes to 50-28, New York to 44-34.
