Colorado Rockies starter Shane McClanahan kept the Houston Astros hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-2 win. McClanahan, now 7-3, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 8, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. With the victory, the Rockies upped their record to 43-36.

Colorado took a 4-1 lead on Ryan McMahon's 10th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which McMahon hit in the top of the eighth, left Houston pitcher Paul Sewald visibly frustrated.
