Twins Get 3-0 Win Versus Seattle
|
The Minnesota Twins picked up a win at Target Field, knocking off the Seattle Mariners, 3-0. On the mound for Minnesota was right-hander Ryan Pepiot. He played a key role in the triumph. Jose Alvarado got the save, his 12th in 14 chances. Minnesota is now 43-38, while Seattle is 29-50.
The outcome was still in doubt with two out in the top of the sixth inning, but Pepiot was able to pitch out of a jam. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and Seattle trailing 2-0, Pepiot retired Marcell Ozuna, who struck out.
