Though he had a stellar game, Vinnie Pasquantino could not prevent his team, the Atlanta Braves, from losing, 7-6, to the New York Mets. Pasquantino was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. With the victory, the Mets upped their record to 46-36.
Had Marcus Semien not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Semien hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Mets.
"I still think this team can play even better," Semien told the New York Times.
