The Boston Red Sox got a superb performance from pitcher Jameson Taillon, but the Toronto Blue Jays still won the game, 4-3. Taillon threw 5.1 innings allowing 2 runs. Toronto reliever Ryne Stanek picked up the win, upping his record to 3-5. John Schreiber took the loss. The Blue Jays improved their record to 36-47 with the win over Boston.

Ke'Bryan Hayes came through with a big-time hit for Toronto. The shortstop smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Hayes.
