Padres Pin 5-2 Loss on Cincinnati
|
San Diego parlayed a decent outing from starter Reynaldo Lopez into a solid win over the Cincinnati Reds. The final score was 5-2. Lopez, the winner, moves to 3-4. He threw 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 2 walks. Ryan Walker earned the save, his 25th in 27 tries.
Freddy Fermin was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for San Diego. The 30-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Taj Bradley. It was his 25th walk of the season.
"The vibe's good," said San Diego manager Matt O. "We've got to keep it going."
The loss makes Cincinnati 42-41.
