New York turned a fine outing from starter Chayce McDermott into a victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park. The final score was 5-2. The Mets bumped their record to 48-37 with this latest triumph.

New York used the clutch hitting of Jacob Young to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Mets the lead, 4-0. For the game, Young had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.

"I still think this team can play even better," Young told the New York Times.
